Here are some tips on how to store leftover Soup:
This soup is delicious, but sometimes you end up with extras. Here’s how to store it for future enjoyment:
- Cool It Down: Let the soup cool completely before storing. This prevents bacterial growth.
- Separate the Soup and Wontons: If the wonton wrappers are left in the broth, they will become mushy. Strain the broth into a container and store the cooked wontons separately in another container.
- Airtight is the Way to Go: Use airtight containers for broth and wontons. This prevents contamination and keeps them fresh.
- Fridge or Freeze? For short-term storage (up to 3 days) , refrigerate the broth and wontons. For more extended storage (up to 3 months) , freeze them .
- Reheating Magic: To reheat, thaw frozen broth overnight in the refrigerator. Gently reheat the broth on the stovetop, adding the wontons just before serving to avoid mushiness. Note that the wontons may have a slightly different texture after freezing, but they will still be delicious.
