JO1 to Make History as First Japanese Artists at 2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour in Texas

JO1 is set to make waves in the music scene as they prepare for an historic performance at the 2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour. The Japanese boy band will take the stage at Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena on December 2nd, marking the first time a Japanese artist has participated in this prominent event.

The performance promises to be a vibrant showcase, featuring an impressive lineup that includes artists like Alex Warren, Jessie Murph, mgk, Nelly, Reneé Rapp, Rachel Chinouriri, Shinedown, and Zara Larsson. Fans can also look forward to a unique sing-along moment with the KPop Demon Hunters.

This event concludes a milestone year for JO1, which comprises 11 members: Sho, Ren, Ruki, Junki, Keigo, Takumi, Syoya, Shosei, Sky, Shion, and Issei. Since their inception through the music competition series Produce 101 Japan in 2020, the group has celebrated their fifth anniversary. They recently wrapped their first world tour, which included stops in various cities such as Taipei, Bangkok, Beijing, Seoul, Los Angeles, and New York. Their collaboration with artists Kesha and Eve on the show KPopped saw them remix their songs “Joyride” and “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.”

What sets JO1 apart is their desire to break free from traditional genres; they identify their music as “JO1-Pop.” This innovative spirit is highlighted in their latest EP, Handz in My Pocket, which emphasizes versatility and an exciting sound.

In anticipation of their Texas debut, members Sho, Junki, Ruki, and Ren expressed their excitement about performing in Dallas. Sho described it as their first major event invitation, stating, "We’re excited to see our fans, but also people who don’t know us, and hopefully we’ll be able to make them our fans."

Regarding what fans can expect at the concert, Junki mentioned, "It’s our first time in Texas, and we see it as a challenge. We aim to showcase what ‘JO1-Pop’ is and go crazy on stage." When considering local cuisine, Shoya voiced his eagerness to try Texas BBQ and steak.

Reflecting on their recent world tour, Ruki highlighted the invigorating experience of performing internationally, noting the unique energies of different fanbases. Ren acknowledged that American fans are particularly engaging and enthusiastic, remarking on their impressive dancing skills.

The conversation turned to their recent EP, Handz in My Pocket. Sho articulated their aim to express potential and energy through the music, emphasizing the goal of inspiring their audience. Their prior collaboration with Kesha and Eve gave them invaluable insights into stage presence and musical execution, with Sho praising Eve’s powerful rap skills.

The members expressed their aspiration to cultivate their unique genre: “JO1-Pop” signifies creating joy in what they do. They emphasize the importance of standing out in a crowded music space and are dedicated to exploring various influences, including incorporating traditional Japanese instruments into their sound.
