Io che non vivo (senza te), Pino Donaggio

In the 1965 15th Festival of the Italian Song in Sanremo, a young musician, Giuseppe "Pino" Donaggio, performed this song, authored by himself and Vito Pallavicini.

"Io che non vivo" was only seventh at the end, but has remained in the hearts of generations of Italians. It was recorded by many Italian singers, among them Massimo Ranieri, the Modà, Morgan, Francesco Renga. In its English version the piece was recorded with the title "You do not have to say you love me" and became a success. Elvis Presley was conquered by the song and included it in his repertoire, making it a classic of all time. After 1973 Donaggio (born in Venice in 1941) started a second career as writer of musical scores, notably with Brian the Palma [read more in Wikipedia].
