Fox 5 Washington WC or WTTG is a television station affiliated with the Fox Broadcasting Company and based in Washington, D.C. The station is owned by Fox Television Stations, a subsidiary of 21st Century Fox. WTTG first went on the air in 1947 as W3XWT, a experimental television station owned by the Washington Post. It became WTTG in 1957 and was sold to Metromedia in 1960. Fox Television Stations acquired the station in 1986 as part of its acquisition of Metromedia’s television stations. Fox 5 Washington WC is known for its local news programming, including its flagship program, “Fox 5 News at Ten”, which features news, weather, and sports. The station also produces other local news and entertainment programs, such as “Good Day DC”, “The Final 5”, and “The Sports Junkies”. In addition to its local programming, Fox 5 Washington WC also airs nationally syndicated programs, such as “The Wendy Williams Show”, “The Dr. Oz Show”, and “The Simpsons”. The station’s studios are located on Wisconsin Avenue in the Friendship Heights neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Its transmitter is located in the Tenleytown neighborhood of D.C.
