FJDK Keys – Lesson 1

The FJDK typing lesson focuses on the FJDK keys of the keyboard. The lesson introduces the learners to the home row keys which are the basics of touch typing. The keys F and J are marked with small bumps in most keyboards for easier identification using touch only.

This animated basic lesson provides an animated mimic of a human hand for the student to easily identify the correct finger placements. For this lesson the F key is mastered by the left index finger, J by the right index, D left middle finger and K by the right middle finger.

This lesson is the perfect way to practice typing for kindergarten and early grades. The lessons are customized in such a way that the keys are repeated several times and this ensures that the learner’s fingers get a rough idea of where each key is after sometime encouraging accuracy and in turn the learner’s speed.

The lesson is a perfect starting point for basic computer lessons for elementary students with the website providing typing practice with games for them to polish up on their rough areas in a fun and enjoyable way without the loss of focus easily and maintenance of it for a longer time.
